Fun Makiing Pizzas at Xintiandi - A Report
Especially with the cold weather arriving so suddenly, it is going to be harder to find fun, indoor, family activities. One new activity my half-Italian family recently discovered is pizza making. For Halloween, I organized a pizza making party at Pizza Marzano (aka Pizza Express) in Xintiandi for about 15 of Liam’s little friends. All the kids had a blast. It was kind of like an art class for the toddlers but using food. And, believe it or not, the pizzas actually turned out quite delicious.

The whole event was surprisingly easy to organize. The only thing I had to do was call to make a reservation. The minimum number of kids for a party is 10. The cost is 98 RMB per kid, which includes a cute chef’s hat and apron, a pizza and a drink. Your party can take over the entire second floor the restaurant, which will be decorated with balloons at your request. Our group consisted of 2-3 year olds; but, I am sure kids of any age would enjoy pizza making.
The adults ordered off the regular menu and enjoyed the event as well. The pizza and salads are pretty tasty. In my opinion, Pizza Marzano’s chocolate cake is one of the best in town.
If you can get 10 kids together, I would highly recommend pizza making as a way for the entire family to share a meal with good friends. No need to wait for a birthday or other special occasion.
